During a doctor appointment, the physician noted that I should try lotion on my knees because they were looking dry and chalked. I mentioned that I had been working in my shop on my knees. The doctor paused, left the office, then returned with plans and a quote from a Closet designer and asked if I could do the work.
This 13-foot long wall-to-wall closet cabinetry was made from solid mahogany with veneered mahogany plywood for the door panels and cabinet sides. A brown wood filler was used to smooth the open-pored mahogany. The doors have soft close European hinges, and the dovetailed drawers have soft close runners. A faux marble countertop was added to accentuate the look.
The biggest challenge was installation, as it occured on the 30th floor of a downtown condominium building, so there were plenty of elevator rides.
