This king size bed frame was made from solid cherry with cherry veneers for the panels on the footboard and headboard.  The hardware to connect the rails to the headboard and footboard are concealed to the interior using buried mortise & tenons, as shown in one of the photos. 
 
The bed frame was sanded to 320 grit, then finished with 3 coats of warmed Boiled Linseed Oil, and topped with 2 applications of paste wax.
